Foster Conservation Community
We believe that anyone can participate in conservation and that fostering a sense of community is essential in conservation action.
The Carleton Conservation Collective is a volunteer initiative of graduate and undergraduate students, faculty members, and staff from different departments across Carleton University that aims to tackle environmental issues in our campus community with solutions-oriented conservation actions. Through the Carleton Conservation Collective, we hope to make a lasting and meaningful impact at Carleton that inspires current and future environmental stewards.
Our first project, painting a bird-friendly window mural on campus, not only made campus safer for birds, but helped to educate and raise awareness of conservation issues. Future projects include a fall BioBlitz, planting pollinator gardens, and treating more windows to be bird-friendly. Collaboration and initiatives like these promote biodiversity health on campus and engage community members to foster our relationships and responsibilities to nature.
